It’s always these last few weeks of summer that I just cannot wait for the temperature to drop below 80 degrees and the leaves to start changing colors. There’s something so magical about that first breath of crisp fall air. I can almost feel it now! I haven’t pulled out any pumpkins yet, but I can’t say the same for my favorite fall scented candles.
Fall is a special time for our family, and it’s by far our favorite season. Last fall we moved from Texas to our current home in North Carolina, so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the season and the decor that goes with it. I did manage to decorate some (see the Instagram proof here) but wasn’t able to do as much as I would have liked.
That means this year it’ll be all hands on deck! It’s mid-August and I’m already daydreaming about what fall projects I can add to my to-do list. Pinterest is both a blessing and a curse, and my-oh-my what some beautiful things I’ve found! Here are things that are trending (or continuing to trend) this fall that I hope to incorporate in my fall decor.
PORCHES
I can’t wait to add some pizazz to my porch this year! Those black urns are to die for, and I love the creativity in using an olive bucket as a substitute. Mums are one of my favorite fall florals, and they look fantastic with the soft colors of the chalk painted pumpkins.
PAINTED PUMPKINS
What’s not to love?! These soft neutrals have a farmhouse-y feel with endless options for colors, phrases, and monograms.
MANTELS
You can’t go wrong with mantel decor that’s filled with cotton, throw pillows, and the occasional pumpkin. Your fireplace should be a focal point in your home, so make it a cozy one!
